BlackBerry for free via Bluetooth
How to Reather your BlackBerry for free via Bluetooth (Mac and PC)
After our post about TetherBerry, a good friend and BlackBerryCool reader Horia sent us a letter saying the process could easily be done for free via Bluetooth. Here is what he had to say:
It depends how much time you have to look into it. For OSX it was a two step process, I didn't install any 3rd party apps or even the blackberry desktop manager (don't even know if they make it for mac) but I did have to add a "modem script" to osx so that it can use the blackberry as a Bluetooth data modem, essentially the equivalent of installing a driver in windows. Once that was done, I just had to create a new dial-up connection, select the modem, put the APN, username and password (all of which are dependent and unique to the cell phone provider, Rogers in my case). After it's all set and done, I literally just hit connect, wait 3 seconds and I'm online via Bluetooth with the phone still in my pocket.
The details of the setup instructions can be found on the CBForums. There are also lots of hints to help you out if your having setup problems. Here are the setup details:
Under network options goto Bluetooth
Telephone number: wap.cingular
Account name: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Click Advanced
Under Modem
Vender: Option
Model: GSM
APN: WAP.CINGULAR
CID: 1
Apply and hit connect
The only issue might be for newer 8900/9000 devices, which according to the post in that link, can use the modem scripts for a 8300/8700/8800 and work just fine. I still have a Curve so I'm not too sure.
For Windows it was even easier, install the desktop manager (which also installs the modem-driver), then create a dialup connection, but this only works via the USB cable. There seems to be a problem with the vista Bluetooth stack (or maybe it's compatibility with blackberry modems in particular). Some Google results seems to say there might be a fix, but I haven't looked into it too much (I have a Mac laptop and I've only used it a few times at home via USB once when my cable internet was down).

Important: If you are using a BES 4.0 server, your BES 4.0 server, you should not use the "Disable IPmodem" setting. BES hosting providers such as eOutlook/Mailstreet/BES4U/MyBlueberry must avoid setting the "Disable IPmodem" setting.

Connect Your BlackBerry
Make sure your BlackBerry is connected by USB cable, and your BlackBerry Handheld Manager is running (just launch BlackBerry Desktop to run it.) This is necessary for using the BlackBerry as an external modem. You cannot use BlackBerry as a modem unless you have BlackBerry Handheld Manager running in the background!

Modem Driver Install
If you installed a recent version of BlackBerry Desktop that came with a 7100t, 7290, 7250, or 7520, it should include modem drivers and already be automatically installed. In the event you need to manually install them, the modem drivers should be located in this directory:
C:\program files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Modem Drivers
However, if you are having problems with these drivers, uninstall, delete all leftover RIM files, and then reinstall the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop.

Verify The Modem Driver Exists
Go to Control Panel -> Phone Modem Options. In the Modems tab, you should see a new "Standard Modem" on a new port (such as COM6 or COM11). If you do, jump to the next step.
However, if your modem is missing:
If this modem entry is missing and cannot be found using Plug n Play, you may have to manually add it. Verify you have "RIM Virtual Serial Port" drivers installed. Find out which COM ports the RIM Virtual Serial Ports are, go to Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager -> Ports (COM LPT) This will tell you which COM ports your BlackBerry Modem is on. Next, go to Control Panel -> Phone and Modem and Remove the modem. Re-add the modem by clicking on Add. You MUST select the "Standard 33600 bps Modem" (correct) INSTEAD OF "Standard 56000 bps Modem" (wrong). Click Next. You will be asked for the ports to add this modem to. Add this modem to all COM ports that the RIM Virtual Serial Port is on. You must choose the "Standard 33600 bps Modem" because of incompatible AT commands that result in an Error 628. Don't worry, the speed won't be slower.

Go to Control Panel -> Phone Modem Options. In the Modems tab, you should see a new Standard Modem on a new port (such as COM6 or COM11). Click Properties -> Diagnostics -> Query Modem. You should see the following:

Close the Phone and Modem Options and the Control Panel. Create a new connection with Start -> Connect To -> Show all connections -> Create a new connection.
1. Click Next
2. Select "Connect To The Internet" then Next
3. Select "Set up my connection manually" then Next
4. Select "Connect using a dial-up modem" then Next.
5. Check only the Standard Modem (if prompted).
6. Give the connection a name such as "BlackBerry Modem", then Next.
7. On the next screen, pick one of the following phone numbers, depending on your carrier:
.If you use GSM/Cingular/ATT/TMobile: Enter phone number *99#
.If you use iDEN/Nextel/Telus: Enter phone number S=2
.If you use CDMA/Verizon/Sprint/Bell Canada: Enter phone number #777
8. Click Next.
9. On the next screen, pick one of the following, depending on your carrier:

Disable IP Header Compression
Make sure TCP/IP Properties (Advanced) "Use IP Header Compression" checkbox is NOT checked. To verify this, do these steps:
1. Start Menu->Network Connections->"BlackBerry Modem"
2. Click Properties Button
3. Click Networking Tab
4. Select "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)"
5. Click Properties Button
6. Click Advanced Button
7. Disable "Use IP header compression" checkbox
8. Click all OK buttons to close all dialogs
Also make sure you clear all these checkboxes, if you see any of these checked:
Turn off "Enable Hardware Flow Control"
Turn off "Enable Modem Error Control"
Turn off "Enable Modem Compression"

BES Configuration
Skip this step if you are not on BES. You only need to follow this step if your company gave the BlackBerry to you. If you are at a company and you are on a BES 4.0, your Administrator must enable the "BlackBerry IPModem" setting on the BES. This is a new setting in the Version 4.0 of BES.

Surf On The Laptop!
Connect to the Internet on the laptop by clicking the "BlackBerry Modem" icon via Start Menu->Network Connections. No username or password is needed.

I've managed to successfully debrand my Bold. Check out the screenshot of my splash screen. It used to be an AT&T version, but now the vendor ID is 1 instead of 102. Users can now access the engineering menu and change their voice codec to AMR-FR, which can upgrade the voice quality. You can also change from 3G to 2G at your discretion! Oh,and one more thing, THIS UNLOCKS YOUR PHONE ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!
Follow all the directions or you will regret it. Good luck to you all! I am posting this in an effort to someday achieve a fully modifiable Blackberry through the help of all our geniuses on this forum. There are three things to download.
1. VSM file RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace
2. MML Installation RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace
3. MML Data (Torrent Download) MFI Multiloader v2.0.1.3 - BadWolf - Our Mininova Premier!!!!! : Software > Mobile phones - Mininova
1 Install the MML software onto your computer
2 Copy the additional MML data files to C:\MML - Overwrite all the original files
3 Disable the Internet of your computer
4 Open up MFI and select auto start on and full erase off <-- VERY IMPORTANT!!!
5 Connect your Bold
6 Let it do its thing until you see fail on your screen and you see "no application..." on your Bold
7 Unplug your Bold, close and open again MFI and deselect auto start
8 With MFI opened hold on ctl+shift+alt+f12 and once the hidden menu comes up plug in your Bold
9 Hit "Load VSM" and locate the VSM file
10 Its going to say "VSM Loaded Succesfully" in less than a second

I've managed to successfully debrand my Bold. Check out the screenshot of my splash screen. It used to be an AT&T version, but now the vendor ID is 1 instead of 102. Users can now access the engineering menu and change their voice codec to AMR-FR, which can upgrade the voice quality. You can also change from 3G to 2G at your discretion! Oh,and one more thing, THIS UNLOCKS YOUR PHONE ALSO!!!!!!!!!!!

There are three things to download.
1. VSM file RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace
2. MML Installation RapidShare Webhosting + Webspace
3. MML Data (Torrent Download) MFI Multiloader v2.0.1.3 - BadWolf - Our Mininova Premier!!!!! : Software > Mobile phones - Mininova
1 Install the MML software onto your computer
2 Copy the additional MML data files to C:\MML - Overwrite all the original files
3 Disable the Internet of your computer
4 Open up MFI and select auto start on and full erase off <-- VERY IMPORTANT!!!
5 Connect your Bold
6 Let it do its thing until you see fail on your screen and you see "no application..." on your Bold
7 Unplug your Bold, close and open again MFI and deselect auto start
8 With MFI opened hold on ctl+shift+alt+f12 and once the hidden menu comes up plug in your Bold
9 Hit "Load VSM" and locate the VSM file
10 Its going to say "VSM Loaded Succesfully" in less than a second
11 Close MFI and on your Bold will say "No Application Linked Factory OS"
12 Turn on the Internet again and open up Desktop Manager

A little trick reading security code for new nokia phones
New nokia phones in wich security code is on.
The phone not gives local mode so the code could not be read or reset.
So we use this trick.
We need 3.9k Resistence.
Resistence should be placed between ground and BSI pins of phone or battery.Then power on the phone. Now phone is in local mode.
Then plug USB or Easy cable and read or reset phone code.
When 5 times wrong code enters phone block the code for 5 min.
When the phone shows code Error stop entering code and wait for 6 min.
Note :The phone must be on
Then enter the code .The phone excepts the code

Wifi fails? Battery fails? Unlock fails? You need purplesn0w, the geohot 3GS unlock solution. Now I know you here a lot about different colors of sn0w, but I'm here to tell you why purplesn0w is the best. First off, what is purplesn0w? It's a soft unlock for your 3GS that I'd actually use day to day. It's not a daemon that takes any resources, and it doesn't add a task to your baseband. It's very close to a true unlock. All it does is patch three files, CommCenter, lockdownd, and your wildcard activation plist(which you need, activate w at&t sim first, no hacktivation support yet). That's it, no other files are installed. Props to Oranav for the at+xlog exploit!
A full explanation is coming soon, but I think you clever reversers out there will see what it does, and see why it's so pristine :-) The payload is radically different from other varieties of sn0w. beta as usual, back up first.

About a year ago today, I found the at+stkprof exploit. Back then, I struggled for 3 days to write a payload. No luck, I just wasn't a good enough reverser. So I stashed the exploit away until December, when I gave it to dev for use in yellowsn0w.
Now a year later, I wrote a payload and delivery system in a day. And it's an awesome payload. Ideally we'd like to patch the lock out of flash, but with the apparently proper sig checks, that isn't going to happen. So purplesn0w is the next best thing. I copy the page I want to patch to an unused region of memory. In memory I patch it. Then, using the MMU, I map the flash page out and remap the patched memory page in it's place.
No new i Phones are really unlocked, activation creates a ticket allowing the base band to be used with that Sim. The lock state of the phone really lies on apples servers. Unlocked is auth all sims. Locked is auth AT&T sims only. Fortunately this ticket system provides an easy way to deliver the payload and re-execute the patched code all in one. And since the ticket is already delivered on base-band resets, there's no need to write another daemon to hog battery. I use the daemon already designed for this, knockdown. A patch to comm-center gets it to run the payload on ticket delivery. And a patch to your activation record contains the payload. So using existing apple machinery, I unlock when needed.
In retrospect, I should've just patched comm-center to send the payload. Then hack-activation would work no problem. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I'll add hacktivation support then.

There has been talk about people being able to install these ipa applications on their iPhones. It is possible.
Basically what this allows you to do is try before you buy.
There are a few things to point out first:
1. The purpose of this guide is to allow you to test apps before you buy them
2. Proceed at your own risk
Adding these apps to your iPhone is fairly easy. There are a couple of things you need first before we get started.
1. A jailbroken iPhone
2. OpenSSH installed on your iPhone
3. Knowledge of using OpenSSH
4. The patched mobileinstallation file which can be downloaded Here.
Just to let you know, I did have problems with this and ended up having to restore my iPhone twice. The problem was that I installed the wrong mobileinstallation file. If you download the one from the link above, you will be fine.
How to get the ipa apps:
You can download your favorites applications in our site.
if you don't find your application
you can request Here your ipa application for free of course.
Here are the installation steps:
1. Access your iPhone’s directory via OpenSSH.
2. Navigate to the root directory - /...
3. Navigate to the directory - /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework/
4. Backup the MobileInstallation file already in that folder
5. Upload the new MobileInstallion file that you previously downloaded
6. Set the permissions of this file to 775. (right click,go to info, or properties)
7. Navigate to the directory - /private/var/mobile/
8. Set the permissions of the Applications folder to 777 -do not check make recursive
9. Open the Applications folder and create a new folder in this directory called - Documents
10. Set the permission of this folder to 777 - check make recursive
11. Navigate to the top directory
12. Set the permissions of the folder /Applications to 777 - do not check make recursive
13. Open the Applications folder and create a new folder in this directory called - Documents
14. Set the permission of this folder to 777 - check make recursive
15. Close the program and reboot your iPhone
16. Once your iPhone reboots, open iTunes, drag your ipa files into the applications folder within iTunes
17. Sync your iPhone and your apps will be there and they should work

New Idea Of Bb5 Unlocking
To be posible to unlock so
me Nokia phones you need "TRK" symbian applications.Since it is property of appropiate company you have by yourself to obtain this
programs. It is free and can be found on site:http://tools.ext.nokia.com/agents/index.htm
Look for s60 3 1 app trk 2 8 9 sisx
This application works with all Nokia symbian phones but...
Before unlocking phone you have first to install TRK and to RUN.
For phone N81 8g there is no microSD card so you have every time to
load TRK application on phone by selecting phone as storage device , removing cable so you can acess that file from file menager and to manualy
install TRK,
or install TRK using Data Suite.
Once installed TRK , run it , go to Options->Settings and swich to USB connection.
Close TRK, be sure that phone is connected over USB cable and run again
TRK application and phone will be READY for unlocking.
But for other phones that can use microSD card there is some trick.
Get two microSD cards, one for FP1 phones and second for FP2 phones.
Use FP1 phone (example: 6120c) and install TRK older version than 2.8.9
(can be found on NET using search) on that microSD card. Run it and cange
connection setings to USB. and that's it!!!
Second microSD card use with FP2 phone (example 5320 xpressmusic)
and install TRK version 2.8.9 on that microSD card. Run it and cange
connectionsetings to USB.
Now when you want to unlock FP1 or FP2 phone just insert appropriate microSD card in that phone, power up phone, wait sec-two to automaticly install TRK. In meantime connect USB cable to phone and wait to display
mode selection.
Select to "Data Suit mode". After that, from phone menu run TRK. Since
TRK settings are stored in microSD card it will automaticly connect to PC
and be ready for unlocking.
FP1 phones are:
5700 x music - TESTED
6110 navigator - TESTED
6120c - TESTED
6121c - TESTED
6124c - TESTED
6290 - TESTED
e51 - TESTED
e66 - TESTED

.) it supports at the moment ONLY the phones with hash: CAEEBB65D3C48E6DC73B49DC5063A2EE00000000
programm check if hash is supported...
.) it is NOT a reshacked version of known programms
.) make always backups, because as i sayed it is a totaly unfinished programm, at the moment it is just a demo
.) USE ONLY UFS, JAF support is not finished...
.) pm308 backup reading need mutch time (dont know way i try to solve this)
.) but unlocking is realy fast (after reading pm308)
.) you need to right the unlocked pm fields genereated with this unlocker with any tool like jaf, mt box, ufs or any other...
.) direct unlocking is in work...
.) sx4 server is the next
.) also other hashes is the next too...
please dont blame me if it dont work for you, because as i sayed this is the realy first demo and totaly unfinished, no real error handling and so on...
it is just to show you my first steps because all whant to see new version...
i still have many many work on this, and i planing to addjust other brands too... (maybe huawai modes, blackberry or somethink like that).
but first i have enugh work with this...
i did many work on it, with i dont whant to write here now, when iam finished with all, a give out a list of all...

under settings you can set longer delay for phones with need more time for boot up in local mode...
